Home decor and furniture retailer Urban Barn is launching its seasonal “Blanket the Country in Warmth” campaign, offering up new fleece blankets to homeless shelters across the country in exchange for $5 donations from customers.
Here in the Edmonton region (at four local stores, including one in Sherwood Park), blankets will be donated to the Hope Mission. The campaign starts Nov. 15 and runs until Dec. 8.
The Vancouver-based retailer has 40 stores across B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario. It total, it hopes to donate 10,000 blankets to shelters. During last year’s campaign, 8,000 blankets were donated.
